A.P.H.A.C.

The Association for Public Health Action in Criminal Justice exists to promote critical analysis of the criminal justice system from a public health perspective. APHAC is an organizational base for students and faculty from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who are committed to 1) identifying, assessing, and addressing the public health impacts of the criminal justice system on people, communities, and other systems; 2) raising awareness about the intersection and common causes of disparities in health and retributive justice; and 3) promoting student participation in public events, student activities, and lectures related to criminal justice issues.

BLOG 4 APHAC

APHAC,

BLOG FOR APHAC!

In our nascent stages (and along the way) as an organization, the APHAC blog will be a central piece to keeping everyone informed and engaged. Originally, we were going to leave posting up to officers and willing faculty. However, the more I thought about it, the better thing to do is to invite all members to be contributors.

Being a contributor is really simple. All it would require is posting an article, editorial, book review, upcoming event or a good movie that relates to our mission....and if you feel so inclined to spice it up with your wit or knowledge, all the better. We are all busy, and blogs are a great way to stay involved while in your pajamas at home, on the bus or train, or while spacing out during a boring lecture.

If you're interested in being a blogger for APHAC, or have suggestions. email me dhc2114@columbia.edu.
